Kim Bookout, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC

Kim began her pediatric experience in  1988 in neonatal ICU while completing her Bachelor's degree at Texas Tech University. Her love for children developed long before, however, during her own childhood. 

 

Kim and her husband, Tim, met while in college and married in 1990. They have four children: Shelby, a high school teacher, Morgan, in graduate school, Barrett is attending the University of Alabama & Erin is in high school at Marcus High School.

 

Kim has a special interest in nutrition and fitness for children in an effort to reduce the health problems associated with childhood obesity.

 

Kim enjoys cooking, getting together with friends, scrapbooking, writing, and running.  Most of all, she enjoys the relationships that she has developed over the years with the families she serves.

Karissa Fowler

Karissa Fowler, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Karissa completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Woman's University in 2007. She worked at Children's Medical Center of Dallas for over 4 years. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012.

 

Karissa is board certified in both Primary Care and Acute Care Pediatrics. She has experience working with a variety of pediatric patients, including refugees, premature infants, and medically complex children. She has a special interest in infant nutrition and health.

 

Karissa lives in Allen with her husband and two young children. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Whitney Grundy, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Whitney received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014 . She is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Before receiving her Master's degree, she worked as a pediatric and neonatal nurse in Dallas for 10 years. She is licensed to perform wellness examinations and to diagnose and medically manage acute and chronic childhood illnesses.

 

She approaches her practice from a disease prevention perspective, and enjoys seeing kids from birth to adolescence. She is always looking for  opportunities for teaching and health promotion. She believes that being a mother has made her a better, more understanding provider.

 

Away from the office, Whitney has a husband and two young boys who keep her very busy and active. Hobbies include running, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Kessley Mayrath

Kessley Mayrath, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Kessley is a pediatric nurse practitioner, board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She received her BSN in 2009 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Kessley worked for 8 years as a newborn nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas where she had experience in NICU and well baby nursery. Kessley decided to return to school while working and received her MSN in 2017 from Texas Woman's University. Since graduating, Kessley has had experience with underserved populations and medically complex children, such as high risk preterm infants and refugees.

 

Kessley is very excited to now be working in her community where she can establish relationships with families and care for children throughout their childhood. Kessley was born and raised in the DFW area. She now lives in Corinth with her husband William and three dogs, Colbie, Avery, and Maggie. Kessley loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends.

Kellie McElhannon, RN, IBCLC

Kellie is a Registered Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She graduated from nursing school in 1990 and has worked as a pediatric nurse exclusively since graduation. She worked at Children's Medical Center for several years immediately after graduation. Thereafter she worked in outpatient pediatric clinics.

 

After years of preparation, studying and working with other board certified lactation consultants Kellie became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2015. She has immensely enjoyed helping many new as well as experienced moms as they begin their breastfeeding journey. It is her goal to help and guide mothers to feel empowered in this very important journey. She will work in partnership with your family and your healthcare professional to develop and support your breastfeeding goals.

 

Kellie is happily married to her wonderful husband Mark. They have two beautiful daughters, a wonderful son in law and a beautiful and amazing granddaughter whom she adores! In her free time Kellie enjoys spending time with friends and family.
